Tamayong Prayer Mountain In Davao City


Tamayong Prayer Mountain or also known as The Garden of Eden Restored is not just a religious place or has religious implications but it has also recently been a tourist destination in Davao City.



It is located in the foothills of Mt. Apo in Barangay Tamayong in the Calinan district in Davao City. This sanctuary accepts people that come from different religions, different beliefs and practices will not be a hindrance for anyone to visit this prayer mountain. Tamayong Prayer Mountain is a property owned and managed by the Kingdom of Jesus Christ that stretches for 8 hectares.



There is a very cool temperature in the area that is great for meditating, praying, and just relaxing in general. But it isn’t just its peaceful atmosphere that makes is memorable for its visitors. Because of its well-maintained and properly taken care of gardens and buildings, it has become a sanctuary of peace and serenity.



The overall structure and design of The Garden of Eden Restored is very much inspired from European styled gardens and buildings. Speaking of gardens, a lot of the flowers found here are actually imported from all over the globe which makes it even more unique than most destinations.



 You will also be able to find a souvenir shop, coffee shop and also a restaurant here. Although to dine in Victoria’s Restaurant, one must call and reserve ahead of time.

The entrance fee (they prefer calling it maintenance fee) for this magnificent paradise is only Php 250.
There are around 200 people who work to keep this paradise the beauty it is.
It has been around since 1999.
Calming and soothing music is played all throughout the place 24/7.

Tips when going to Tamayong Prayer Mountain

The Jose Maria College is where you will pay your admission and registration fee. Don’t worry; it isn’t far from the airport.

The prayer mountain accepts everyone who wants to visit even if they may have different beliefs or religion. But since this is a sacred and religious place, it is advised that you wear appropriate clothing.




Dress code
Since the best time to visit and enjoy the Tamayong Prayer Mountain is during the day, try to bring caps or umbrella to protect you from the sun. And you can wear sunblock too for extra protection.

There will be rules that will be presented to you during your registration, please do follow them.

How to get to Tamayong Prayer Mountain

There are flights from Manila that you can take that are headed to Davao.

Find your way to Davao City Center, where you can easily find Bangkerohan. This is where you will find the terminal going to Calinan.

Ride the L300 headed to Calinan.

Asked to be dropped off at the town center of Calinan. There you will find habal-habal that would take you to Tamayong Prayer Mountain. An advice for this one would be, for you to look for a habal-habal that would be willing to wait for you to take you back because it’s rare to find public transportation in the area.

Sometimes all we need is a place away from the vibe and hype of the city, and just one garden that gives us peace and serenity.
